 I can’t help but imagine the past life and journey that an object made before resting in a dusty attic or forgotten drawer. Who’s finger did a worn thimble protect? What nights did a tiny burnt light bulb once illuminate? The process of combining found objects and weaving their stories together is something that brings me joy...a  joy that I wish to share.

​

As each sculpture comes to life I can’t help but recognize a spirit emerge. Each spirit has both a journey it’s destined to embark on and a purpose. Perhaps it is meant to be an inducer of peaceful thoughts or a maybe a reminder of the beauty in the world. Some will nurture strength while others may simply serve as good-luck-givers.

My intention for each of these Spirit Dolls, created from forgotten odds and ends is that they go on to continue their story. I hope that they find their way to a special place to call home and continue their purpose.
